Since this confusion may lead to some problems in reporting results, and since the change was very simple, the way the software works has been modified. The procedure has caused much confusion, in that many assumed that IRRAS was keeping the most significant cut sets. This subset was not the most probable cut sets. IRRAS does display the results for all the cut sets generated, but only keeps a subset of the total. When the user solves a fault tree that has more cut sets than can be stored, IRRAS simply stops storing the cut sets at the point it determines that it cannot keep them all.
